Donations

While a portion of our funding is earned through the services that we provide, many of the programs that make the Village Learning & Achievement Center a special place are provided by private donations.  We must raise a minimum of $250,000.00 each year if we are to continue to provide quality services for the Villagers.

Appreciated Stock

If you own stock and it has increased in value, you will pay income tax and/or capital gains tax on the increase when it is sold.  However, if you donate it to the Village Learning & Achievement Center, you qualify for a tax deduction on the increased value while avoiding capital gains tax.

Cash Gift

A cash gift is the easiest way to contribute to the Village Learning & Achievement Center.  We appreciate all donations, no matter the amount.  Those who provide regular donations are vital to our existence.  A regular donation can be made by making a pledge or simply by allowing us to debit your credit card account on the regular donation schedule that you prefer.  

Employee Match

Many businesses have a policy of matching gifts that their employees make to non-profit organizations.  If you work for a company with a matching gift policy, please consider utilizing this opportunity by donating to the Village Learning & Achievement Center.  

Fundraisers

The Village Learning & Achievement Center hosts a variety of major fundraisers that appeal to many interests.  Please consider getting involved by either sponsoring or attending our events or donating items for our silent auctions and raffles.  

IRA Gift

A gift from your IRA with a non-profit designated as the beneficiary can avoid taxes and put your entire IRA to work for individuals with disabilities in our community. 

Life Insurance

A portion of your life insurance policy can be designated to the Village Learning & Achievement Center, or you can buy a policy naming the Village Learning & Achievement Center as the owner and beneficiary.  If you name the Village Learning & Achievement Center as the policy owner, you can claim a tax deduction on the premiums you pay.  

Memorials and Honorariums

If a family member passes away, Village Learning & Achievement Center can be noted as the recipient of memorials, in lieu of floral gifts to the family.  We can supply envelopes and brochures for memorial services.  Another occasion to highlight our organization is by encouraging family members and friends to make a contribution to the Village Learning & Achievement Center for a loved one’s special birthday, anniversary or as a holiday gift.  A letter will be sent to the honored person indicating the gift, and the donor will receive an acknowledgement for tax purposes.

Wills and Trusts

Gifts from wills and trusts are a thoughtful way to contribute to the Village Learning & Achievement Center.  Gifts can be designated to a particular project, activity or program.
