Transportation
Transportation is one of the greatest obstacles people with disabilities face on a daily basis. The Kingwood/Humble/Atascocita area is a wonderful place to live; however, there are limited public transportation options for individuals who are unable to provide transportation for themselves. Village Learning & Achievement Center is the most affordable service available in the area, providing services to our clients as well as other members of the community who would be limited without our services. We provide transportation to and from jobs, day habilitation, doctor appointments, therapeutic appointments, and recreational and social events.
Our flat round-trip transportation fee of $6.00 does not come close to covering the costs of operating our fleet of vehicles. We rely heavily on fundraising efforts to supplement the rising costs of reliable vehicles, vehicle upkeep, and fuel.
Village Learning & Achievement Center has partnered with Steep Creek Media (The Tribune Newspaper’s media division) to create a way for the community to partner with Village Learning & Achievement Center. We offer an advertising option for our community transportation partners to place ads on our fleet vehicles and have their businesses promoted all over the community. Our vehicles travel over 100 miles on a daily basis, so your featured advertisement will not be missed!
